As my formal title of Data Manager suggested, I was in charge of entering, updating, organizing, and managing the data which came from handwritten interviews between the moderator and the patient or physician.
To help me with the data, I worked with my part-time staff to make sure we would have all the data entered and cleaned ensuring not only a high level of accuracy of information, but also being able to meet the deadlines of every client, regardless if the project was small or large.
Types of market research projects I worked on included brand development, product profiles, device research, message testing, and my personal favorite, creative concept tests.
All these types of projects involved conducting primary research via interviewing with medical professionals either face to face or by the telephone. Once the hand-written interviews (also known as discussion guides) were completed, I was in charge of converting this information into a digital format.
To do this, I extensively used Microsoft Excel in order to create a data template to aid in data entry. Immediately following data entry came data cleaning and analysis. The end result: a beautiful, customized report with original data and insights delivered exclusively to the client.
